Historic Win for Global Health

Uruguay has Defeated Philip Morris’s challenge to Its Strong Tobacco Control Laws. President Tabaré Vázquez of Uruguay made the announcement on Friday July 8, at 5pm Uruguay time. Since then, tributes and congratulations have been voiced by major tobacco control activists globally. A significant victory that has recieved support from many but particularly The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung (The Union) who have worked with Uruguay’s government since 2014.
