NHS (UK) is putting ambition into action (12122016)

A new public health blog claims “It’s time for a trulytobacco-free NHS”. They define a tobacco-free NHS to mean: No smoking anywhere in NHSbuildings or grounds, stop smoking support offered on site or referrals tolocal services and Every frontline professional discussing smoking with theirpatients. A definition that this is totally in line with the ENSH-Global concept for tobacco management within healthcare services.

It is well known that interventions to support smokers toquit save money – smokers that manage to give up reduce their lifetime cost tothe National Health Service (NHS) and social care by almost 50%.
